Financial Controller. Wroxham
As Financial Controller of this successful organisation, you will collaborate closely with the Head of UK/European Operations and the US Controller, contributing to general accounting, weekly sales reporting, monthly closing, and annual budget preparation. Your hands-on approach and proactive mindset will be essential in executing financial strategies, establishing robust accounting controls, and ensuring the financial integrity of the local entity. From general ledger preparation to supporting fiscal initiatives and year-end audit preparation, you will take the lead in various accounting activities including the ERP system.
Your key duties will consist of the following:
- Responsible for the monthly accounting close and ensure the preparation of financial statements.
- Oversee ERP systems as a “super-user,” managing change initiatives and integration with supporting systems.
- Provide guidance to finance team members, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in line with parent company deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with local, UK and regulatory statutes at all times.
- Enhance financial reporting and forecast accuracy, strengthening processes and procedures in the accounting/finance department.
- Develop and manage the annual budget, report on monthly performance versus objectives, and perform additional accounting/financial duties as required.
Skills:
- Previous experience in similar role ideally within manufacturing, service, or distribution companies.
- Preferably ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking for optimising financial systems infrastructure. ERP system experience highly desirable.
- Proven ability to enhance system integration with eCommerce platforms and automate routine functions
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and decision-making ability; track record in developing and maintaining accounting/finance functions
