A market facing business development role, leading and supporting new business wins and creation of new business connections for the Norwich office of this large professional services firm. Supporting profitable growth, the primary focus will be promoting all services lines in the SME market and some specific sectors. A great opportunity for someone with several years’ experience in business development (ideally within professional services) and a proven track record of winning new work. The role will involve

  • Identification of prospects within the geographical area of Norwich
  • Being proactive in identifying and attending networking events
  • Keeping up to date with overall business trends
  • Researching the market and the competition
  • Working with the local office team to lead approaches to connecting to new business
  • Promotion and introduction of relevant service lines and specialists from all areas of the firm
  • Conducting introductory meetings, ensure ongoing communication with prospective clients;
  • Initiate, manage and monitor specific campaigns
  • Being the key link between local office and central marketing team
  • Actively promote business development activities in the local office

Candidates will be able to demonstrate

  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Being an organiser, thinking ahead, planning effectively, working without direct supervision;
  • Professional and confident speaker and strong written communication;
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations in an engaging and compelling manner;
  • Tenacity and resilience – able to overcome set-backs and seek alternative solutions;
  • Flexible and available to attend events and networking outside core working hours.
  • Proficient with MS office, particularly word, Powerpoint, excel and CRM software
