About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced accountant to join their team and support the growth and development of their business. As a Senior Accountant/Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the practice, working closely with the principal to provide exceptional service to clients.
You will have the opportunity to work in a unique shop-fronted office environment, facilitating face-to-face interactions with clients in a relaxed setting, which encourages new clients to engage with the practice.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of year-end accounts for various clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, utilizing accounting software and adhering to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Preparation of Self-Assessment Tax Returns for companies, individuals, and partnerships.
- Management of a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery of services and addressing client queries.
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Submission of year-end company accounts and corporation tax returns in compliance with Companies House and HMRC deadlines.
- Provision of client-focused support, including conducting client meetings and effectively communicating with clients via phone, email, and in person.
- Supervision and support of other team members.
- Assistance in onboarding new clients by preparing relevant documentation.
- Establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
Skills criteria:
- Full or part-qualification with an appropriate technical qualification, accompanied by at least 3 years’ experience in practice OR Qualified by Experience (QBE) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in practice.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Proficient knowledge of accounts, VAT, and tax, particularly for small businesses and individuals.
