Big Sky Additions Ltd take the privacy of our clients and candidates seriously. This policy explains what we do with your personal information, why we want to use it, how we protect it, and what rights you have to control our use of your personal data. The most important fact is that it’s your personal data. We have complete respect for your rights and would like to reassure you that we will only use it where necessary to deliver our services to you.

We acknowledge and agree that any personal data of yours that we handle will be processed in accordance with all applicable data protection laws in force from time to time.  With effect from 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR”) will come into force, which will change the law.

  1. How we receive information and how we may use it

Big Sky Additions Ltd receive your personal data when you apply directly for an advertised role via our website; when you apply directly to be a candidate for whom we can facilitate a job search or via a third party or when you respond to a job post placed by Big Sky Additions on a job board on behalf of a third party client.

This statement explains how we process personal data received into our organisation. When you register with Big Sky Additions Ltd you must consent to us collecting and storing your personal information. You will not be able to submit your enquiry or details to Big Sky Additions Ltd without consenting to us storing your personal data. This may include but is not restricted to your name; contact details; address; employment history; mobility and education.

During telephone conversations and face to face interviews we may collect personal information with regard to employment preferences, strengths and work experience which may be stored on your personal record. This information facilitates our ability to support your job search and to provide a basis for recommendation when short-listing candidates for a particular role. By explicitly providing consent when you register with Big Sky Additions Ltd you are providing permission for our storage of this information. Big Sky Additions Ltd will never share personal information or a Curriculum Vitae with a third party without your explicit consent.

Due to the nature of recruitment, a significant number of candidates reconnect with our organisation periodically. It is not uncommon for this to occur years after we have placed them in a role. For this reason, your consent includes explicit consent to retain your personal details until such time as you wish us to delete your records from our database or refrain from further engagement.

We also receive personal data about candidate from other sources. Depending on the relevant circumstances and applicable local laws and requirements, these may include personal data received in the following situations:

– Your referees may disclose personal information about you

– Our Clients may share personal information about you with us

– We may obtain information about you from searching for potential candidates from third party sources, such as LinkedIn and other job sites

If you do not consent to Big Sky Additions Ltd storing your personal data or setting up a personal registration for you, please do not submit your Curriculum Vitae for any roles advertised on our website. We are unable to process your application without receipt of consent to process and store your personal information.

Information collected and processed for finding you a suitable role is as follows:

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Your email address
  • Your telephone number
  • CV/work history
  • Job preferences including role, geographical areas and salary
  • Any other work related information you provide, for example, education or training certificates

Information in respect to individuals that have worked for us previously or may work for us is as follows:

  • Passport
  • In some cases, permits and visas
  • DOB
  • National insurance number
  • Full details of job offers and placements
  • Outcome of criminal record checks and security clearance for certain roles
  • In certain cases, medical information
  • References
  • Financial information (including but not limited to payroll details and terms, HMRC data, pension scheme details, court orders and statutory payments)
  • A log of our communications with you by email and telephone

You will be contacted on the contact number or email address you provide, further updates will come through by email unless you specify otherwise. We will not contact you without your express permission.

  1. The Purpose of Data Collection

We collect this information so that we can contact you with relevant jobs or talk about your experience. We also use browser website cookies in conjunction with your browser settings and Google Analytics to improve site experience and content; cookies contain non-personal identification information. Cookies are controlled by the user and not by our website or Big Sky Additions.

If you do not wish to be contacted by a consultant at Big Sky Additions simply do not provide your information or submit a contact form to us. If you wish to turn off your cookies, please check your browser settings.

  1. Storage of Personal Data

All data is stored within our database on a secure server. Only Big Sky Additions consultants have access to information on the database.

If we experience any data breaches all contacts will be informed by email and a report will be sent out.

Once you have been contacted by a consultant at Big Sky Additions your details will be added to the database where it will be stored.  You have the right to be forgotten at any time. Please contact Big Sky Additions and we will remove any and all of your personal information from our database.

  1. How long we hold information about you

We are required by law to hold your information for as long as is necessary to comply with our statutory and contractual obligations and in accordance with our legitimate interests as a data controller.

We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that your Personal Data is maintained and up to date. However, you are under a duty to inform us of any and all changes to your Personal Data to ensure that it is up to date and we will update or delete your Personal Data accordingly.

  1. Security of the Big Sky Additions Website

Big Sky Additions is committed to the security of customer information and we have security procedures in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under Big Sky Additions control.

The only people who can currently access your details is our team of recruitment consultants at Big Sky Additions but only with our express consent.

  1. Third Party Access to Personal Data

We do not allow any third party access to your personal information without your express permission. If we did so we would break the regulations of our industry regulator, Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), the Data Protection Act 1998 and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

To operate effectively as a business we may need to pass your information on to selected and trusted third parties. The third parties we may share information with are:

  • Our clients for recruitment purposes
  • Our payroll provider should we find you temporary work
  • Any third party where you’ve given your consent

Please be assured that when we outsource any processes we ensure that any supplier or contractor has adequate security measures in place. We also require them to comply with privacy principles as part of our contract with them.

Our website may, from time to time, contain links to and from third-party websites, including those of our partner networks and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies. We don’t accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.

We’re unable to provide you with our services if you do not provide certain information to us such as in section 1.
