Job Application Errors

Candidates are being advised to remain honest and pay more attention to detail in their job applications, after a new study suggested inaccurate applications are at their highest level since 2011. The research by candidate due diligence specialists, HireRight, found that nearly two thirds (63%) of job applications in the first quarter of 2015 contained errors. The quarterly Candidate Health(with the use of this remedy to buy – inhibitor of phosphodiesterase of the fifth type) Check survey shows that the incidence of mistakes has risen in all areas of CVs, with the exception of education. This is still the area in which candidates are most likely (39%) to include inaccurate information.

More than a third (36%) of applications contain errors in the employment history, while 30% make false claims about professional qualifications and memberships.

As the competition for the best roles remains strong, it seems that some candidates still believe that including errors or exaggerations on their CV is the best way to get ahead of the pack,” explained accountancy recruitment specialist Sam Holt of Norwich-based Big Sky Additions. “We always urge candidates to be honest and truthful at all times, and offer support with CV writing and application submission to ensure our candidates deliver the highest quality information at all stages of the recruitment process,” continued Sam, who recruits for part time and full time accountancy jobs in Norwich.

Steve Girdler of research authors HireRight suggested companies must balance their responsibilities to recruit the most suitable candidates: “Businesses need to balance carrying out due diligence that ensures candidates are qualified, with ensuring a positive recruitment journey.” Sam Holt offers some additional advice to companies looking to fill accountancy jobs in Norfolk: “Engaging the services of a reputable recruitment agency to support your recruitment process goes some way to sharing this burden of due diligence and delivering the best possible candidates,” he advised.
